If you’ve read anything about feng shui office ideas, one of the first things they always say is to eliminate clutter. Doesn’t it just feel fabulous when you really dig in and get a space super clean and organized? Clutter drains your energy and stagnates any progress you are trying to make in your life.

How does one even start to clear the clutter?

Here are 5 tips to get you started on your clutter elimation plan:

1. Take tiny steps to get started.
   Once you get started, it gets easier! Begin with that overstuffed closet, or the boxes under the bed! Take one small step all the way to completion before beginning the next step!
2. Be flexible.
   If you have a lot of clutter in your home, chances are that you tend to hang on to things that are unnecessary. As you are going through your things, do a check before you put something back – is it useful? Do you really love it? When was the last time you used it?
3. Buy pretty folders.
   Have a lot of paperwork to organize? Make it fun! Get yourself some pretty folders and a big Sharpie marker. Toss anything that you can find online and keep only those papers that you must keep or that are irreplaceable in some way.
4. Do a little every day.
   To manage clutter, do a little bit of clearing every day. Make it a routine.
5. Once the space is clear, clear the space.
   Once a space has been cleared of clutter, clear the space spiritually with sage or some other space clearing rituals. Light a candle, play music and add fresh flowers to celebrate your achievements!
